We are a Greek NGO, serving people in need on the Island of Lesvos and beyond.
Philosophy
We provide help to people in need
by any means possible:
Every Day - Since 2015
We are a social charity kitchen cooking and delivering lovingly prepared meals to those in need. We deeply believe that everyone has the same right to be safe, free from hunger and to feel at home, regardless of your nationality or asylum status. Here we create a different world. A small oasis of joy and love, where everyone is welcome.
Our 2025 update: 73.502 free meals.
During the year 2025, home for all cooked and distributed for free 73.502 meals.
All of them are freshly cooked in our kitchen , from organic vegetables and herbs coming from our garden, made from volunteers and refugees get trained to cook in a professional kitchen, learn how to use professional equipment, so that they can find a job in a restaurant in the future.
We are ready to employ two of them, (one is from Somalia and one from Sierra Leone), in our kitchen as they are already capable of taking over the kitchen by themselves.
650 people came in groups from the camp to spend some hours in the farm and have a full lunch on our terrace. Before they go they always picking up fresh groceries from the farm to take with.
Every day all our volunteers and land workers seating on a long table in our kitchen and sharing all together lunch. Is the moment of the day that we are all connected with the feeling of a big family.
In the year 2025, nineteen people worked at home village like land workers. A group of locals and refugees, that can prove that we can be together without any problems. Plant seeds, taking care of the land, harvesting olives, produce olive oil...
2025 was a year of fast changes. Lows and rules about the refugees changing fast , sometimes from week to week.
We learn all the years to be extremely flexible to be able to follow these changes, and we are ready to continue to 2026 with the same love, the same strength, and the same passion.
Home Village – Renovation Overview
In 2025, Home Village underwent a series of essential and highly beneficial renovations, transforming the farm into a more professional, beautiful, and welcoming space for everyone—volunteers, staff, and visitors alike.
A covered outdoor area with a sturdy canopy was built just outside the kitchen, providing a comfortable space where meal groups, workers, and volunteers can sit, enjoy hot meals, and take in the view of the farm. To support this, new tables and chairs were purchased, along with glassware, serving items, and warming cabinets to ensure that food is properly preserved and served.
The old storage building received a complete renovation, carefully preserving its rustic traditional style. The walls were insulated, a new tiled roof was installed, windows and doors replaced, and the old concrete floor was insulated and tiled. Walls were smoothed and repainted, the old fireplace was restored to full functionality, and the ceiling beams were carefully refurbished. A dedicated section now houses our olive production machinery, with a concrete ramp built for easy access and transportation of the machine and other materials.
On the exterior, the building was plastered and painted, and a wooden pergola with asphalt tiles was constructed—not only to protect the building but also to enhance its visual appeal. Under the pergola, a concrete base was laid, with plans to add outdoor floor tiles in the future.
Beyond the olive production area, this space is intended to serve as a reception area, a venue for gatherings, seminars, and, eventually, a product gallery.
Large wooden planters were created, now nurturing some of our organic herbs, and other areas throughout the farm were refreshed and beautified. Every corner of Home Village reflects the care and attention put into these renovations, making the farm not only more functional but also a space where everyone can truly enjoy being.
